Paws b [pause & b] is a leading mindfulness curriculum for children aged 7 -11 in schools. Paws b was developed in 2012 by MiSP, Tabitha Sawyer and Rhian Roxburgh, teachers at Ysgol Pen Y Bryn and Sarah Silverton, a senior mindfulness teacher and trainer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University in Wales.
Clare is delivering the Paws .b Mindfulness in Schools Programme (MiSP). The aim of MiSP is to bring mindfulness to children and young people and those who care for them in order to advance their wellbeing and resilience. Paws b is an innovative and inspiring classroom-based mindfulness programme for 7-11 year olds. The course involves movement, games, discussion and meditations.
The lessons are flexible and varied and can be taught as six, one hour lessons, or twelve 30 minute lessons. Learning from all of theses lessons is encouraged to be connected to other aspects of the school curriculum where and when appropriate. Music, sport, art, drama, queuing to come into the classroom, school and residential trips, to name just a few of the possibilities available.
Clare has delivered the Paws b programme to hundreds of primary school aged children. Clare conducted research on the back of this delivery and has found certain themes have emerged. As a result of this Clare now also offers a bespoke programme tailored to the individual school’s needs.
These fresh new programmes involve Mindfulness and Dance, Mindful Movement and Mindfulness and Creativity.
Clare also delivers a bespoke package for High Schools, please get in touch to find out more.
